Kangaroos are born at the embryonic stage after a short pregnancy, typically lasting 25-40 days. And these babies are completely unrecognizable as kangaroos: their eyes are closed, they have no ears, their hind legs and tail look like stumps, and there is a small hole instead of a mouth.
