Bernoulli's principle or how planes take off
It states: an increase in the speed of a fluid occurs simultaneously with a decrease in static pressure or a decrease in the fluid's potential energy.
As it moves, the wing cuts the air and splits it into two streams. The jets of air flowing around the top of the wing move faster than the lower layer, causing the pressure to drop. Below, under the wing, the pressure will be much higher.
When the speed of the airplane increases, so does the difference between the pressures at the top and the bottom of the wing - the airplane acquires lift. It is the high flow pressure on the earth side that allows a multi-ton aircraft to begin its airborne journey.
