One thing I have no idea how to do is to gauge actual enthusiasm, since any metric that becomes a good gauge immediately gets hacked to give false stats, much like how pull requests in a programming job as a metric of productivity stop being a good metric once people know that is what is being judged. Both sides seem very delusional and twitter is clearly botted. The only metric seems to be enthusiasm by virtue of quality of memes but neither side really seems to have any real enthusiasm
