Conflict in Romania continues
Recently, an open letter was written from parents of Sportul Studențesc club members asking not to involve their children in conflict between Irina Deleanu and Alexandra Piscupescu (who works as coach at club).
They complained that in September 2024, before national championship, they were restricted access to Floreasca gym without notice or explanation. Training carpet in gym was removed afterwards. In May 2025, Alexandra was not allowed to accompany gymnasts to competitions in Italy. Unequal treatment and distribution of resources between clubs from Federation is also noted.
Irina Deleanu, through Federation, also wrote open letter on behalf of Amalia Lica and Patricia Stanciu:
Letter talks about their achievements and fact that they train at Floreasca gym, but unnamed private club whose leadership is "attacking" Federation have lobbied for better training hours at gym, and hold commercial events there, to detriment of Olympic interests.
