✅Kwolek's discovery of Kevlar in 1965 began with an analysis of long molecule chains at low temperatures. She observed that polyamide molecules lined up to form liquid crystalline polymer solutions that were exceptionally strong and stiff. She spun the solution into fibers that were five times stronger than steel and resistant to fire.
