Italian Gymnastics Federation has found Livia Ghetti guilty of abusing gymnasts
Livia - ASD Estense Otello coach. She worked with Alessia Maurelli and Martina Santandrea before they made it to national team.
Trial covered period from 2022 to 2025. Livia was found guilty of systematically insulting gymnasts and their bodies. She was also accused of pulling the gymnasts' hair, slapping them, throwing objects at them, pushing them, and scratching. She would not allow gymnasts to drink or go to toilet until they did exercises correctly.
In 2023, she grabbed gymnast by neck with both hands, shook her, and scratched her.
In 2023 and 2024, she grabbed gymnasts by arms and used inappropriate scissors to forcibly cut their nails, considering it too long.
In 2022, she forced gymnast to continue training instead of stopping and finding out reasons for her illness, which had previously manifested itself in fainting and epileptic seizures.
Court imposed fine of €600 and a two-month suspension for Livia. And fine of €1200 for Estense Otello
