JOINT STATEMENT FROM THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE AND THE TOKYO 2020 ORGANISING COMMITTEE
国际奥委会与东京 2020 奥运会组织委员会联合声明
In the present circumstances and based on the information provided by the WHO today, the IOC President and the Prime Minister of Japan have concluded that the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo must be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021, to safeguard the health of the athletes, everybody involved in the Olympic Games and the international community.
在目前情况下，根据世界卫生组织今天提供的信息，国际奥委会主席与日本首相共同得出结论：为保护运动员、参与到奥运会中的每一个人与国际社会的健康，在东京举行的第 32 届奥林匹克运动会必须重新安排至 2020 年之后，但不得晚于 2021 年夏天。
The leaders agreed that the Olympic Games in Tokyo could stand as a beacon of hope to the world during these troubled times and that the Olympic flame could become the light at the end of the tunnel in which the world finds itself at present. Therefore, it was agreed that the Olympic flame will stay in Japan. It was also agreed that the Games will keep the name Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020.
双方领导人一致认为，在这一动荡时期，东京奥运会可以成为世界的希望灯塔，奥运圣火能够成为当今世界所身处的黑暗隧道尽头的曙光。因此，双方同意奥运圣火应继续在日本燃烧，同时同意继续保留 2020 东京奥运会与残奥会这一称谓。
