Let's not sum up year, but look at expectations for 2026
× Olympic qualification
Battle for Olympic tickets begins in 2026. We still don't have official plan, but we can assume that first quotas, as in previous cycle, will be at World Championship in Germany
× Year of comebacks
• Daria Atamanov, who was leader of national team in previous cycle
• Lala Kramarenko - will she be able to lead team under new rules?
• Helene Karbanov - she was team leader, but then suddenly disappeared for year and now only came in fourth place at national competition
× Year of comebacks 2.0
• Comeback of Russia and now with new leader of federation
• Russia and Belarus will return to European and World Championships and will also be able to compete for participation in Olympics
• Return of Russia and Belarus group teams on international stage
× Year of comebacks 3.0?
IOC has given permission to hold competitions in Belarus in its recommendations. FIG has not yet commented on this, but it's likely that they are using it.
Therefore, we may soon see stages of World Cups in Belarus (instead of Athens, for example). Return of Crystal Rose and Lobatch Cup to FIG calendar. As well as European and World Championships (which sounds very problematic for Ukraine, as they will have to travel to Belarus despite boycotts, otherwise they may miss Olympic qualifiers if it's 2026-2027 and next cycles)
× Neo-seniors
From junior to senior: Akmaral Yerkesheva, Anastasia Kaleva, Natalie De La Rosa, Alicia Liu, Alicia Tan, Lina Heleika, Farida Bahnas, Qi Wang, Sofia Usova, Ksenia Zhyzhych and many others
What are your expectations for 2026 in RG?
