The Dinka, also referred to as Jiang, hold the distinction of being the largest ethnic tribe in South Sudan. They are renowned for their traditional methods of agriculture and livestock rearing. During the dry season, which spans from December to April, the Dinka migrate their cattle herds to riverine pastures. When the rains arrive, they return to their permanent settlements in the savanna forest.
