Cirrus pilots are unreal. He hits a deer, has flight control & possible structural damage, has no idea how extensive the damage is, but elects to continue on a cross country flight instead of landing at the nearest suitable airport. Only after asking about a certified service center several times does he even consider the risk to his aircraft and those under him. Cirrus CFIs need to have a frank discussion with students & owner pilots. You can die and kill bystanders in a Cirrus just as easily as any other airplane without a chute through poor decision making. This situation could have easily resulted in disaster.
Exactly. Dude has “an emergency” flight control situation but wants to fly to a “service center?” Don’t know about Part 91 rules but did not recently another Cirrus pilot crashed flying from FL to NC with electrical issues? Seems Part 91 rules do not require a land ASAP after a known issue with the plane.
This guy just hit a DEER in an SR22 and is more concerned about finding a service center than getting the plane back on the ground. Incredible.
