Yet, the public immediately interceded for the boy, after which his sentence was reviewed and considerably commuted.
Already in January, 2004 Tate was free, getting away with a year of house arrest and 10 years of probation.
True, he was out for a short time: in May of 2005, he first used a gun to rob a pizza delivery guy and then beat up his friend. Now he is facing a 30-year sentence.
