Axiom Space to send self-assembling robots to the ISS 🦾
The Ax-1 mission will depart April 8 on the Crew Dragon spacecraft. Four people will spend 10 days in orbit. In addition to various biomedical experiments, the team will perform work on the TESSERAE program.
TESSERAE is a research program whose ultimate goal is the self-assembly of structures in space. Its individual modules will be densely packed at launch, but once activated will form a robotic swarm suitable for self-assembly of various elements.
