Funding of Romania RG Federation has been temporarily suspended
National junior championship is currently taking place in Romania. Gymnasts from Sportul Studențesc club (CSS) were supposed to participate, but Federation decided not to allow them to compete the day before competition. According to athletes' parents, decision to exclude them was made by president of Federation, despite fact that athletes:
• registered with club that's member of FRGR
• have valid medical visas
• have paid their membership fees
Federation referred to letter sent in July in which club announced “ stopping activities of rhythmic gymnastics section”.
However, in reality, thanks to efforts of parents and coaches, activities were resumed.
Yesterday letter was received from National Sports Agency announcing suspension of funding for FRGR until situation is rectified, due to their failure to fulfill their obligations.
