Anastasiia Apanasenko about her anorexia
One day, I simply decided to lose some weight. Just a "simple" decision. But that decision almost took my life.
From 49 kg to 35 kg
I lost 14 kg in 5 months
At first, it didn't seem dangerous. I was training hard, then doing 2 more hours of Pilates or fitness every evening.
I felt strong. But truth is - I was slowly destroying myself.
By end of May, I weighed 40 kg. I had already lost 9... and wanted to lose 8 more.
I was barely eating. When my mom packed me lunch, I'd give it away or throw it out.
And when I saw how differently clothes fit me, I felt... happy. But every day, I had less and less strength. More breakdowns, more tears, more nights behind locked doors.
I could hardly make it through my workouts. Only thing keeping me going was thought of my competition.
I kept telling myself: «Just perform - and that's it»
But deep down...
I was terrified I'd collapse right there on stage. Because I could feel it there was almost nothing left of me.
