Did you know the moon has colors?
When we look at the moon we usually see it as a gray rock but on its surface there are plenty of copper, titanium, iron and other oxides.
In order to bring out their colors I had to take hundreds of exposures and stack them together. In post processing I then cranked up the saturation to reveal them. I shot longer exposures to capture the shadow side of the moon which is actually dimly illuminated by light reflecting off of earth!
By combining the shot and long exposures I was able to create this high dynamic range image that shows the moon in all its glory. I hope you enjoy this image and feel free to share it!
