The Weissenberg effect
An effect characteristic of some non-Newtonian fluids. Instead of being thrown outward, a chain of polymers is coiled onto a rod.
Technically, this phenomenon is as follows: if a rotating rod is placed in a container with a polymer solution, the liquid level around the rod will begin to rise, the solution will be "wrapped" around the rod.
