Energy doesn't go anywhere

Energy cannot run out. Just as, for instance, there is no fuel in the car, there is no energy to go anywhere.

Energy passes from one form to another. This statement is based on the law of conservation of energy, which says that energy cannot be created from nothing and cannot be destroyed: it can only be transferred from one form to another.

Imagine a full-flowing river dammed by man, where a huge mass of water has potential energy. The water produces work, it turns the turbine.

Wind also has energy; it comes from the uneven heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the unevenness of the earth's surface, and the rotation of Earth.

The velocity of the wind determines the amount of kinetic energy, which can also be converted into the mechanical energy of the turbines. The turbines, in turn, produce the electric current that comes into our homes and lights lamps, makes computers, kettles, irons...

The energy doesn't go away.
