Elvira on situation with ball
After the clubs routine, my scores weren’t announced for about an hour. I had already performed with ribbon and hoop, and only then did they announce my scores*. I was in shock when I heard it. Even though I covered my ears, it didn’t help - I heard everything anyway.
I expected that after year and with good routine, I would be judged fairly, but alas, they decided otherwise.
And music hadn’t played (first time, when she was supposed to do ball). I already said then that I wouldn’t go out. Then they called me, I had to go out, but I was already unable to do anything. I was in despair.
Before this competition, I had made deal with myself: if I performed and wasn’t judged fairly, I’d go out, tell everyone to get lost, and walk away. That’s pretty much what I did, though I didn’t actually tell anyone to get lost. Because I’m not going to put up with that kind of attitude toward me and hard work my coach and I put in. It hurts me that people I trusted during the hardest times turned their backs on me
*Her scores were announced roughly every rotation. It took a long time, but all gymnasts in that group were in the same situation
