Books such as Haunting Adeline is something children and teens should not be reading. People on Booktok keep talking about it and people on YouTube haved talked about the book and how awful it really is due to the glorification of rape. Since she is a teen, I assume she likely heard about it from TikTok but regardless, you need to talk to her because literature or any form of media glorifying sexual assault and abuse is not healthy for the youth. Talk to her about the warning signs of abuse, consent, boundaries and what to look out for when things go awry in a relationship. Teach her to never let a person treat her like that just because of a book she read. With such a book being pushed all over TikTok, which literally has many folks under 18, it is appalling and the reason why parents need to be involved in their child(ren)'s lives especially in regards to internet usage.
